Emily Pfaff, MS, LPC

I know firsthand how devastating eating disorders can be, not only on the individual, but also for the family. Parents are left feeling helpless. Siblings don’t know what to say or how to act. For over a decade, I have been passionate about eating disorder treatment and recovery.

After my own successful recovery I wanted to help others, and learn more about the clinical side of things. In 2012, I completed my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration on eating disorder treatment. Early in my professional career I worked in residential and day treatment for children and adolescents focusing mainly on trauma treatment and other co-occurring disorders. For the last six years, I have been specializing primarily in eating disorder treatment for children, teens, and young adults. I work collaboratively with medical doctors, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and nutritionists to ensure each individual is provided the best possible care. Currently, I am Wisconsin’s only Certified Family Based Clinicians (FBT). FBT is considered the top treatment approach and highly effective for adolescents diagnosed with eating and feeding related disorders. While I have a clear passion for eating disorder treatment, I also enjoy working with teens and young adults as they navigate life transitions and other stressors. Being a mom of three, I understand how difficult life transitions can be!

I don’t take for granted what an honor it is to be able to walk alongside someone’s journey, especially when those journeys get tough. If you or your teen is struggling with an eating disorder, or just feel like therapy could be helpful, let’s chat! Speaking from experience, being able to be fully recovered from an eating disorder has finally allowed me to, ‘Live Free.’
